Lipo-C without B12

Lipo-C is a multi-component lipotropic injection blend combining the core MIC complex (methionine, inositol, choline) with L-carnitine and B-complex vitamins (typically thiamine/B1 and pantothenic acid/B5), formulated to support fat metabolism and hepatic lipid processing. This formulation excludes B12, which is offered separately or in higher-dose formulations at some providers.

The mechanism operates across multiple metabolic pathways. Methionine, an essential amino acid, feeds the SAM (S-adenosylmethionine) cycle, the body's universal methyl-donor system critical for lipid metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis, and gene expression regulation. Inositol, a carbocyclic sugar, serves as a precursor for phosphatidylinositol-derived second messengers (IP3 and DAG) that control intracellular calcium signaling and protein kinase C activation, influencing hepatic lipid export and adipocyte function. Choline, an essential nutrient with dual roles as a phospholipid membrane building block (phosphatidylcholine) and acetylcholine precursor, supports liver lipid transport and prevents hepatic fat accumulation through maintenance of lipoprotein synthesis. L-carnitine, familiar from our earlier entry, shuttles long-chain fatty acids into mitochondria for β-oxidation. B-complex vitamins support enzymatic cofactor roles in energy production from fats. Together, these components are studied as synergistic agents supporting hepatic lipid clearance and mobilization of adipose tissue, though clinical evidence for weight loss in non-deficient populations remains limited.

Handling: Use sterile needle and syringe. Swab rubber septum with alcohol wipe before each puncture. Do not shake vigorously; gentle swirling is acceptable if settling occurs.
